The International Trade Division of the Indiana Department
of Commerce offers several programs to assist Indiana
businesses with engaging in foreign trade activities.
Greater Indianapolis Foreign Trade
Zone (INzone)
An international economic incentives program designed
to enhance foreign trade in the Central Indiana region.
Products that enter INzone may not be subject to U.S.
Customs duties until they are released for use in the
U.S. INzone Primary Zone is located at the Indianapolis
International Airport.
International Trade Services
Offers export-development assistance to Indiana companies
to increase the sale of Indiana products worldwide. Services
include determining export capability, conducting market
research, providing export counseling, facilitating international
contacts, participating in select overseas trade shows,
and leading overseas trade missions. Small and medium-sized
firms that are either new to exporting or looking for
new markets and manufacture a minimum of 51% of their
product in Indiana are eligible.
Trade Finance Program
To be eligible, a company must have been in business for
one or more years, offer reasonable assurance of repayment,
and have a positive net worth. The product must be at
least 50% U.S.
Trade Show Assistance Program
Provides financial assistance to manufacturers by reimbursing
a portion of the costs incurred while displaying their
products at overseas trade shows. Small manufacturers
having worldwide employment of 500 or less and manufacture
at least 51% of their products in Indiana are eligible.
Applicants must be ready to export, have available manufacturing
capacity for export, and have basic export knowledge.
