Tailwind
Group
The Indianapolis Tailwind Group can put wind at the
backs of high potential businesses by giving them much
needed assistance at a critical time in their formation.
This assistance could be all they need to become a national
company headquartered here in Indianapolis.
IED has partnered with industry leaders
in information technology and life sciences to provide
growing companies with a forum to introduce their company
and products to, potentially, their most important customers.
This forum may be a formal presentation to a targeted
group of potential customers or an introduction to a
single company. IED works with growing companies to
identify the best means of addressing their needs. Contact

Buy Indy First
Indianapolis Economic Development, in conjunction with
the City of Indianapolis and Mayor Bart Peterson, is
proud to introduce the Buy Indy First supplier linkage
program. Buy Indy First, a free information warehouse
service, connects Indianapolis businesses to local suppliers
of goods and services.
Indianapolis businesses can support and
grow this economy by investing purchasing dollars locally.
These dollars circulate in the industry by creating
new jobs and thus infusing more dollars into the local
market. Locally invested dollars also provide businesses
with increased capacity and lower cost of future production.
With increased business volume, local companies are
able to spend additional dollars on inventory, new technologies,
equipment and staff.
Buy Indy First is a data warehouse containing
vendor references with complete product and service
descriptions. Businesses may submit requests to Buy
Indy First for referrals to local vendors of specific
products or services. There is no cost to use the service.
Our vendor database will soon be available
online – in the meantime, contact
us and we can help you leverage your purchasing
power in our local economy today!
Benefits to using Buy Indy First
- Increase spending power. $1 spent locally effectively
becomes $2 or more as that dollar is reinvested.
- Increase the size and quality of the employment
pool by retaining talent locally.
- Ultimately reduce total costs of shipping and other
related expenses by using local vendors rather than
out-of-state vendors.
